Is your yoga teacher sufficiently trained?

Here’s an interesting read if you have the time: https://americanyoga.school/yoga-alliance-ruining-yoga/

Alternatively, here’s a few considerations before embarking on a new yoga teacher;

+ What style and is there any level you need to be at before joining that class
+ What qualifications does the teacher hold (you have a right to ask if this is not obvious)
+ Has your teacher asked you about any injuries or medical conditions
+ Is your teacher leaving it up to you to manage your conditions (sometimes that’s ok but not always)
+ Is your teacher actually watching YOU
+ Do you feel the teacher is too ambitious for you (a teacher may push a student but only to that students limit)

These are just a few pointers. Above all, trust your instinct. If something doesn’t feel right it probably isn’t. Yoga practice is indeed a powerful tool to have and has helped many people physically and mentally when practiced safely and with awareness.

Happy and safe yoga-ing.
